A Walk With Darcy

(There is very little writing with lots of pictures.  You will want to read for the bright eyes surprise.)

A blustery wind and cooling temps had us searching for the perfect hat and covers.
Once we were ready, we headed out to see what we could see.

We strolled down the sidewalk noticing a very few touches of fall colors on the dogwoods.
We saw the red dogwood berries that are getting ready for winter.
There was a pear tree with real pears growing on it trained to grow flat against the building.

We saw monkey grass blooms and flags.
Crepe Myrtle comes in so many colors.  There were pink,

 red,
and white.
We saw a yellow fire hydrant.

The bright, yellow, black-eyed susans added cheer.
The little details can easily be looked over.
Sweet Autumn Clematis is gorgeous this time of year.
Blooming Hostas are beautiful too.
Along the way, I could look through a little slot to check on Darcy.  She surprised me one time when I checked on her.
I peaked and looking back at me were the brightest, happiest eyes.
I almost jumped because I had no clue she even knew about the slot.
We saw gladiolus,
begonias,
surprise lilies,

 and lampshades,

We stopped off at each lending library.
On the way home, we saw
 Daisies,
 White  Phlox,
 the Butterfly weed,
 a hydrangea variety, and
some beautiful Weeping Willow.
Darcy was asleep when we got home!

Announcing Darcy

"What do you want your grandma name to be?" my daughter and her husband asked over the video chat.  I sat there stunned, not able to speak. Then, tears and excitement. Unbelief was a definite thought as well. After seven years of marriage, with no plans for children, my daughter and her husband were telling me their news.  I was thrilled and happy but held myself in check because I knew they had planned on life with just the two of them.  They had their own doubts but I was excited because I know what joy a baby brings.  ME!!!  A GRANDMA!!!
